The producer of Avatar: The Way of Water, Jon Landau, just announced on Instagram that, in time for Thanksgiving, they have more things to thank the heavens for as they finally finished the post-production of the much awaited sequel after two years. Landau proudly announced, “Congratulations to the entire Avatar: The Way of Water family. Yesterday we completed our final mix and picture mastering and I snapped this picture of our post finishing team. I am thankful to every one of you for your contributions to the film.” In the post are the whole post-production team of Avatar: The Way of Water wearing their best smiles with fists pumped knowing that they finally finished editing, and that, in itself, is a huge achievement. James Cameron is also in the photo and he celebrates the end of the post-production with a big bottle of champagne.

It is a ginormous feat for the whole team behind Avatar: The Way of Water especially with the fact that it has been 13 years since the first Avatar movie released in theaters and finally, the sequel will be coming out in a month for the whole world to witness a new perspective of Pandora. Avatar brought in a whole new world to everyone as it introduced Pandora where the moviegoers experienced it in 3D, something immersive and breathtaking given the new technology back then and the movie received that accolades due to it. Avatar raised the bar so high that the sequel has to level with it or do more than what has already been existing, possibly another reason why it took 13 years before Avatar: The Way of Water came into fruition. James Cameron continues to sit on the director’s chair for Avatar: The Way of Water with Jon Landau as the producer, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver as the writers, Russell Carpenter as the cinematographer, Stephen E. Rivkin, John Refoua, David Brenner, and even James Cameron as the editor with the music of Simon Franglen. Avatar: The Way of Water arrived in theaters on December 16, 2022.
