This week, it was revealed that WB blocked directors El Arbi and Bilall Fallah from backing up footage from the film which according to them wasn’t even close to being finished before being on the receiving end of the studio’s DC “purge”. Now, the Ms. Marvel directors are getting into detail as to how things went down. Posting an emotional video on Instragam, Arbi and Fallah recalled the fateful day the project got canceled and their attempt at saving the now-deleted footage from the film. Arbi says that he “didn’t even realize that was a possibility” and described the studio’s decision to block their access as a “pretty harsh” move.Also Read: Batgirl Directors Want to See the Canceled Movie Get the Snyder Cut TreatmentThe directors’ revelation about the deletion of every footage available on WB’s server seems to be a clear indication that the Batgirl film truly won’t be seeing the light of day, despite calls from the DCEU fandom for it to be given a Snyder Cut-esque treatment.Interestingly, WB is said to be doing a “funeral screening” for the film to be seen by its cast and crew but it’s hard to tell if they’ll give in to the pressure from fans.
