Now that Daniel Craig has hung the iconic tux of the 007 agent and stepped off the role in 2021’s No Time To Die, the search for the next James Bond is officially on. Of course, it’s hard not to wonder about who the former Bond actor, Brosnan, considers to possibly carry on the 007 mantle.
Thankfully, in a recent interview with Belfast Telegraph, Brosnan finally offers his bold yet honest thoughts about who should be the next James Bond. See his full quote below:
Brosnan’s comment might sound like a pure disinterest in the future of the franchise, but it seems like he was an avid fan of Daniel Craig’s James Bond movies all along. “I saw the last one, and I saw Skyfall. I love Skyfall," he said. “I’m not too sure about the last one. … Daniel always gives of his heart. Very courageous, very strong. But…”
Brosnan did not elaborate on the reason why he didn’t like Craig’s last film, nonetheless, it’s delightful to know that he is still enthralled with the franchise. Fans have been campaigning for some potential James Bond candidates, including Tom Hardy, Regé-Jean Page, and Idris Elba — who claimed several times that he is not interested in the role.
Going back to Brosnan, he will now enter the expanding world of the DC Universe alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in Black Adam, playing the DC comics sorcerer, Doctor Fate. Black Adam will premiere in theaters on October 21. Also read: James Bond Producers Break Silence on Idris Elba Turning Down 007 Role
