In case you’re unfamiliar, Yuki Igarashi is an animator who has worked on a wide range of anime shows, though he is most well-known for his work on animating Jujutsu Kaisen’s first ending by himself. When Jujutsu Kaisen was first released, the ending became a big hit, so much so that when the creditless ending was released, it quickly got a ton of views. Right now, the video has over 28 million views. Aside from the Jujutsu Kaisen ending, Igarashi has also worked on a wide range of popular shows, including Attack on Titan, Mob Psycho 100, Overlord, and more. He is also the director of the “Lop & Ocho” short in the Star Wars: Visions anthology series. Igarashi’s first work for the new studio OUTLINE is the animated music video for Gen Hoshino’s new song “I Wanna Be Your Ghost.” The singer Hoshino is well-known among anime fans as he sang the ending song “Comedy” of Spy x Family. Hoshino’s new music video features bold colors which are reminiscent of Igarashi’s work on the Jujutsu Kaisen ending. Though the art styles for the main characters are markedly different. You can watch the new music video here: Speaking with Comic Natalie, Igarashi mentioned that he was inspired by legendary animators – Hayao Miyazaki, Yoshiyuki Tomino, and Hideaki Anno – to head his own studio. He followed that these three animators continued to be at the forefront of animation even when they are 50, 60, or even 80 years old, so he wanted to follow in their footsteps by making more creative animation work. OUTLINE is a new studio that’s under Twin Engine’s EOTA. Twin Engine is an anime production company that owns several anime studios, including Geno Studio, Lay-duce, and Revoroot.
