This season aims to place a greater emphasis on the new characters introduced in Season 1, such as Joshua Folsom (Matt Lauria), Allie Rajan (Mandeep Dhillon), and Maxine Roby (Paula Newsome). Gil Grissom (William Peterson) and Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) are not set to return, but CSI alum Marg Helgenberger will return as Willows.
CSI: Vegas Season 2 Welcomes Back Catherine Willows
Along with Willows, the new teaser also teases the killer’s potential reappearance, as first reported by TV Insider. The CSI: Vegas Season 2 teaser blends typical CSI protestations like Willows declaring, “Blood evidence always tells a story.” with flashes of frightening murder scene visuals. Large Shoes to Fill
CSI: Vegas Season 2 appears to be balancing fresh cases with character-driven storylines, which appears to be a nice improvement so far. The new characters introduced in Season 1 were given little time and room to establish themselves. In essence, combining procedural plotting with serialized plotting should correct CSI: Vegas Season 1’s major flaw. The CSI: Vegas Season 2 teaser appears to be a return to the popular format that has made the show and its spinoffs a TV regular. While Helgenberger’s comeback should be enough to keep old viewers interested, focusing more on Maxine and her crew will likely enable the program to stand on its own two feet if Willows’ return is short-lived. CSI: Vegas Season 2 Release Date, Expectations
Helgenberger made a surprise appearance in Season 14 for the 300th episode of CSI after appearing in the show’s first twelve seasons. Over the course of CSI, Willows’ career progressed; she started out as a lab assistant and eventually worked her way up to supervisor before quitting to join the FBI. Although the reason for Willows’ return to the CSI team in Vegas is still unknown, it might have something to do with the new serial killer that was hinted at in the Season 1 finale.
