Speaking of the future, intrigue still shrouds Amber Heard’s status in the DCU and as it stands, we still don’t know whether or not Warner Bros. Discovery plans to remove the actress from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Over the last couple of months, there have been conflicting reports about the controversial star’s involvement in the DCU sequel with the latest rumor claiming that she wasn’t present during the film’s most recent reshoots.The earliest insider reports claimed that Mera will die in the opening sequence of Aquaman 2 which seems plausible, especially after Heard herself revealed during the highly-publicized defamation trial that her role has drastically been reduced. With all the uncertainty surrounding Mera’s DCU future, fans are still hopeful that Amber will be replaced by Emilia Clarke as the Atlantean Queen. On Twitter, it’s quite evident that the fandom has not given up campaigning for the Game of Thrones and Secret Invasion star to reunite with Jason Momoa in the DCU.
