In the past few months, a lot of updates are coming in and out for Diablo 4 as Blizzard Entertainment is ramping up the game for a targeted release in early 2023. Now, the highly-anticipated sequel is nearing its completion as it is currently on a friends-and-family phase of testing according to Bloomberg reporter Jason Scheirer.
In case you’re wondering what a friends-and-family testing is, it means that the game is now outside of the company for the people who are tied to the development team to test. It would be an alpha version of Diablo 4 which is now on the hands of, literally, the friends and family of the developers.
Alpha and beta tests are to be held as announced before as Diablo 4 nears its launch. Unfortunately, these tests are not open to fans but these tests are put in to ensure that when the fans get to the game, there would be little to no errors.

There is no exact release date yet for Diablo 4, but it is expected to come out in the first half of 2023 which means it would come out sooner as fans are already excited to see what the game has in store.
Diablo 4 is currently under development for PC, Xbox One and PS4. There is no confirmation yet whether there would be PS5 or Xbox Series X/S versions.
