On October 26, CD Projekt Red announced the remake of the first The Witcher game, and the announcement was a part of the original game’s 15th anniversary. The remake is one of the five upcoming games the studio announced earlier this year, and was previously codenamed Canis Majoris. Of course, fans want to know who will return to voice the characters, but since the game is still in its early stages of development, it may be too early to find out. Speaking to Eurogamer, Cockle admits that he doesn’t know much about the remake of The Witcher, other than it’s being developed in Unreal Engine 5, though he says he’d be “there in an instant”. “I know as much as you do about this at the moment,” he said. “All I know is that CD Projekt Red has announced that they’re going to remake Witcher 1 in Unreal [Engine] 5, and that’s what I know. So I don’t know if they’re going to bring me back in to do re-recording of the dialogue, I don’t know if they’re going to use dialogue from Witcher 1 as it exists. I don’t know.” It seems as though CD Projekt Red has yet to get in touch with Cockle about the remake, but as mentioned above, the project is still in its early stages. Given that he’s portrayed Geralt for long, it would make sense for the studio to bring him back for the remake.
