There were previous speculations about Daniel Craig’s involvement in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as fans expected the Casino Royale actor to appear alongside the rest of the Illuminati. Craig was reportedly cast as Balder the Brave, Thor’s Asgardian half-brother but was unable to film his scenes due to COVID-19 concerns.

Craig was recently a guest on the Happy Sad Confused podcast where he was asked if he knows about Balder the Brave (via The Direct). “No,” Craig said reluctantly before taking a sip from his drink and adding, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” It’s a curious response and fans began speculating that Marvel Studios may have warned Craig about confirming his involvement with the MCU film. Although we can’t get a better answer from the Knives Out actor right now, he did express his interest in doing a Marvel movie. “I would take any job if the hours were good,” he said with a laugh. “Sure, absolutely. Yeah, definitely.” We’re loving the idea of Daniel Craig showing up in an MCU project in the future. In the meantime, it looks like he’s set to return as Detective Benoit Blanc in a new mystery in the future. It has already been confirmed that director Rian Johnson is hoping to work on a third Knives Out movie although the project has not yet been officially announced.
