Is Makima Evil in Chainsaw Man?
Yes, Makima is an evil character, even though she doesn’t look the part of a very twisted antagonist in Chainsaw Man. At a glance, Makima appears to be an elegant and classy woman who will not harm anyone, especially Denji, Aki, and the other members of her special division. In fact, Denji and Aki look up to Makima the most because of her kindness, as well as her attractive looks, good behavior, and pleasing personality. While Aki connects with Makima because she is sincere in her desire to bring down the Gun Devil and avenge its victims, Denji likes Makima in a variety of ways from the moment she enters his life. Throughout her career, Makima was able to collect many fragments of the Gun Devil, which is already considered an impressive feat. While everyone thinks Makima is a dedicated devil hunter, she only uses her position as a front to lay the groundwork for her ultimate devious plan. Although she wants a better world for everyone, her methods and plans to achieve this are inhumane and immoral. Ever since Makima agreed to collaborate with the Prime Minister of Japan, her mind became more twisted as she got desperate to free the world from unnecessary suffering, diseases, illnesses, and chaos, fueled by her disdain and disgust throughout the years of just watching from the corner. What’s even worse is the timing of Denji’s appearance on Makima’s radar. Now that Makima has latched on to Denji, her plans to usher in a new era for the world are all the more achievable. After all, Makima can ultimately use Chainsaw Man’s abilities to succeed, regardless of whoever she sacrifices or hurts in the process. Does Makima Turn Good in Chainsaw Man?
No, Makima did not turn to the good side in Chainsaw Man. Unfortunately, she is a villainous character from beginning to end. She has spent her entire life wishing for a world free of painful struggles such as death, war, and hunger. While her intentions are good, her means are clearly destructive to justify her actions. In fact, everything she has done to usher in a new era for humanity has been more negative than positive. Most notably, Makima manipulates and controls people. She not only made Denji’s life miserable, but she also reclaimed all the good things she had done for him. Makima’s psychotic tendencies always get the best of her. From giving Denji his own home, friends, and family, to vanquishing them all in an instant. Makima had other victims as well. She has also antagonized her subordinates, including Aki and the Angel Devil. Her crude personality did not prevent her from victimizing other characters in the series, hybrids and devil fiends alike. Makima is so wicked that she looks up only to the Chainsaw Devil and no one else in the world or even in hell. Discover more anime news and info by following us on Twitter @epicstreamanime.
