Well, a recent report from Geekosity’s Mikey Sutton seems to suggest that Gunn is out of the picture for the next Suicide Squad movie. According to Sutton, Warner Bros. Discovery is looking to tap David Ayer to helm the next film which is reportedly being treated as a third film, meaning Gunn’s version is still considered canon.Intriguingly, Ayer’s rumored The Suicide Squad 3 will reportedly be led by the returning Will Smith and it won’t follow the story of Gunn’s version of the film. When a fan asked the Marvel and DC director to give some clarity to the report, Gunn quickly dismissed it and said none of it is real.
