It all began when Momoa expressed his excitement about his “dream” DCU project which according to him is already in the works. A day following his tease, Gunn posted an image of Superman villain-turned-anti-hero Lobo on social media which set the fandom ablaze.When asked by Comic Book Resources to “blink twice” if the DCU project he’s been hyping up as of late involves Lobo, the 43-year-old star offered a cryptic response, saying: “Well I have to obviously blink, so there’s no way I can get out of this without blinking, but you know that would be amazing if that happened. I’m just happy that [James] Gunn is at the helm and [Peter] Safran, who is just like my heart. Of course, it raises a bit of concern regarding his future as Aquaman and while the chances of Gunn and Safran allowing him to pull double duty are there, the most logical move is for him to abandon his Atlantean role.I mean, with reports suggesting that a soft reboot is in the franchise’s future after The Flash, the idea of a DCU “reshuffle” doesn’t seem too farfetched to believe.
