Specifically, Kaguya-sama VAs Aoi Koga (Kaguya Shinomiya), Konomi Kohara (Chika Fujiwara), and Miyu Tomita (Miko Iino) talked about their experiences recording for the new movie. Spoiler Warning: There are spoilers for Kaguya-sama: Love Is War Season 3 in this article.
Kaguya VA Praised by Co-stars
Kaguya-sama: Love Is War’s third season ended on a satisfying note back in June as it finally saw Kaguya and Miyuki confess to each other after their various shenanigans over the past seasons. While the manga source material has ended, there are still a lot of chapters that have yet to be adapted into an anime. So, it was great news for fans when the new movie was revealed as it will adapt the next manga arc. As you may have expected given its full title, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War -The First Kiss That Never Ends-, the movie will center around Kaguya and Miyuki and the effects of their romantic moment in the Season 3 finale. Given this focus on the main duo, Kohara and Tomita had nothing but praise for Koga’s performance during the recording. Specifically, Kohara mentioned a time when it was only Koga in the booth to record for an hour. Despite being alone and with no one to bounce off with, she was able to deliver a moving performance. Tomita also praised Miyuki’s VA, Makoto Furukawa, for giving a strong performance to match Koga. RELATED: Kaguya Shinomiya and Mikasa Ackerman VAs Join Cast of New Sci-Fi Project
Ishigami and Iino’s Fight
While the movie’s story centers on the main duo, the supporting characters are also given some love as Yu Ishigami and Miko Iino have lots of scenes in the upcoming film. In the interview, Tomita mentioned an interesting story about the recording. She said that there was a scene where Ishigami and Iino fight, and it proved to be a challenge, especially as it was ad-libbed by Ishigami’s VA, Ryouta Suzuki. During the recording process, not all voice actors were present. In this case, Suzuki recorded the fight lines first, though he ad-libbed five cuts during the scene. Tomita found this challenging as the ad-libs didn’t give her enough time to speak, though she did her best to match Suzuki. This resulted in what sounded like a “real fight” between the two, as noted by Kohara. From the looks of it, the Kaguya-sama: Love Is War movie is going to be a must-watch for fans of the series. Those in the US will be able to watch it in select cinemas this February. Discover more anime news and info by following us on Twitter @epicstreamanime.
