Dawson’s Creek was one of the most favorite TV shows back in the late 1990s that kick-started the boom of teen-centered shows until the 2000s. So, would fans see this beloved show return to the small screen?
Katie Holmes Sees No Need for Dawson’s Creek Reboot
In an interview with Screen Rant, Holmes revealed her decision on whether she would return as Joey in the potential Dawson’s Creek reboot. Tom Cruise’s ex-wife appeared firm when she said she had no plans to star in the remake of the show that catapulted her to fame. In fact, it had been discussed amongst the cast over the years and they seemed to have the same answers. “No [laughs]. I’m so grateful for that experience,” she said. Hence, revisiting the characters at a later age might not be interesting anymore. “We’ve definitely talked about it over the years, but I feel like that show captured that time period and that time in all of our lives,” she continued. “So I think it’s great that you are nostalgic for it. So am I. But it’s like, do we want to see them not at that age? I don’t know. I don’t think [so]. We all decided we don’t actually.”
Joshua Jackson Weighs In on Possible Dawson’s Creek Reboot
Joshua Jackson echoed the same sentiments as Holmes. In fact, he said he couldn’t fathom if there would be Dawson’s Creek reboot. “I don’t know why you’d want to [bring it back],” he told MrPorter.com. “Nobody needs to know what those characters are doing in middle age. We left them in a nice place.” He even joked that nobody wanted to see his character, Pacey Witter, experiencing back pain. “I don’t think we need that update,” he continued.
