The CBS television special originally aired on November 17, 1978, and right off the bat, it just didn’t click with fans of the franchise. Some critics even described it as a bad episode of Saturday Night Live which definitely says something.While the actors that appeared in the one-off special would rather leave memories of the “Holiday Special” behind, Mark Hamill can’t seem to escape its shadow, and year after year, he’s reminded of the dreadful special on social media. After being tagged by a fan on a Twitter post celebrating its 44th anniversary, the Luke Skywalker actor was once again forced to admit that it was actually bad.
