Speaking with GQ, Keoghan said that he’s trying to get in touch with the filmmaker to secure a part in the upcoming project, “I’m tryna meet [Taika]… I’ve been askin’ everyone.”
In the MCU’s Eternals, Keoghan played Druig. Despite the film’s poor reception from both critics and moviegoers, Keoghan’s performance was well-embraced. He also made a brief appearance in DC’s The Batman, in which he played the Joker. Beyond the superhero genre, he has appeared in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk and won Oscars for his supporting performance in The Killing of a Sacred Deer, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is an accomplished actor.

Given the actor’s versatile acting portfolio, some fans believe that he could also perform a noteworthy performance in the Star Wars universe. But without the exact plot and other details, fans can only hope that there’s really a part meant to be portrayed by the actor.
In May, Waititi was reportedly attached to direct and co-write a Star Wars movie. The director recently worked on the MCU’s Thor: Love and Thunder and won an Academy Award for his Jojo Rabbit screenplay two years ago. He also directed the widely acclaimed first season finale episode of The Mandalorian on Disney+.
Last June, the filmmaker also shared a disappointing update on the Star Wars project. He revealed that a 2023 release is off the table. “Not this year,” he said when asked if he’d begin shooting the movie soon.
He added, “I’m going to be in New Zealand from August until the end of the year with Our Flag Means Death [season 2] and Time Bandits and during that time I will still be writing. I’m still trying to figure out what the story is.”
