Episode 8 of the divisive MCU series featured an unexpected hook-up between She-Hulk and Daredevil much to the fans’ surprise. Most of them weren’t prepared for Jen and Matt’s display of intimacy, and apparently, so were Marvel Studios executives who apparently had major concerns over the sex scene. In an interview with The Wrap, director Kat Coiro explained the significance of exploring Walters’ sexuality in the series. She said: “It was definitely a part of our conversations because you can’t make a story about a woman in her 30s navigating modern life and not address sex. And I do think that the media is strangely more prude when it comes to the female point of view in regards to sex. And, you know, we’ve got Iron Man doing a lot of things, but then there were all these conversations and there was a lot more fear around her sex life than there was about making fun of Marvel.“Coiro added that while she never intended to go overboard with sexuality, she also didn’t want the subject to feel taboo. “But we just kept saying, this is her story, and this is her truth, and we’ll handle it in a way that’s light. I love the show because I think it really reaches all ages. And I like the fact that young people like it. So, I never wanted to go too far with the sex, but I also don’t want sex to be taboo, even for young people. And so it was always finding that balance.“Also Read: She-Hulk Episode 8’s Unexpected Sex Scene Between [SPOILERS] is Making Fans CrazyOf course, it’s completely understandable how it became a subject of concern amongst executives because, at the end of the day, Marvel Studios still carries the Disney banner loud and proud and we all know the House of Mouse has long been synonymous with family and values.
