Now, according to ScreenGeek, Marvel Studios is already underway on their plan to introduce the X-Men into the MCU and they revealed that their current plan is for their upcoming X-Men film to be based on Joss Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men run from 2004 to 2008. While they don’t have the details on the characters that they’re going to use, the comic book source material featured mutants such as Cyclops, Emma Frost, Beast, Kitty Pryde, Wolverine, and Colossus. The plot of the comics focused on the tea stopping an alien race from destroying Earth while dealing with the so-called “mutant cure.”
We do have to take note that Marvel Studios has not confirmed any of these details in the report so we have to take it with a grain of salt for now. It is likely that we will be hearing more confirmed details about their plans for the X-Men soon. It is interesting to hear these potential plans that Marvel Studios have on how they’re going to introduce the X-Men in the MCU and it looks like they will be taking a different approach that we haven’t seen in the Fox films. Considering that the universe is already heavily populated, they do need to find a very different way to integrate the mutants into the MCU. Let’s just wait and see for any confirmation from Marvel Studios regarding their plans on introducing the X-Men into the MCU. So far, we’ve only seen their slate for the next few years. However, as hinted at by the finale of Ms. Marvel, the mutants are indeed slowly arriving in the MCU.
