Responding to a question from TVLine during the press room interview at last night’s Primetime Emmy Awards, Keaton finally shared his reaction to the Batgirl cancellation news. While he did say that it may be due to a “good” business decision, he admitted that he has no idea about what exactly happened. “I think it was a business decision; I’m going to assume it was a good one,” the Batman actor said. “I really don’t know. I don’t follow that much.” A follow-up question was asked regarding Keaton’s future as Batman to which the actor responded by saying that he also has no idea regarding it.
“I don’t know. We’ll see,” Keaton said before describing her experience of reprising the role in Batgirl as “great” and “fun.” “I really have no idea,” he added. Keaton took home his first Emmy last night as he won the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series category for his acclaimed performance in the Hulu limited series Dopesick. It is interesting to hear the Batman actor’s reaction to the situation. While he is aware that it was done due to a business decision, it sounds like he really doesn’t have a concrete reaction to the situation and he just let it pass. Because of the recent decisions that are being made in the DCEU projects, a lot of fans have been wondering about the future of Keaton as Batman after his comeback in next year’s The Flash as he is expected to have a major presence moving forward. Let’s just wait and see for any news and updates regarding it.
