Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 Episode 1 Recap
Unlike his friends, Mob is having trouble deciding what to write about in his future aspirations form. When Mob learned that Tsubomi had been accepted to Yuzu Kosho High, he overheard her discussing her opportunity to study abroad as one of its privileges. Meanwhile, Reigen entices Mob to work full-time in the Spirits and Such Consultation Office in the future. However, Mob wonders about Reigen’s future ambitions from back then, to which Reigen responds that he did not consider building his own office at that age. Reigen explains that he did so well in the first job he had that he was able to open his own office so quickly, which Mob admired and praised. A client appears unexpectedly and complains about a strange-looking ornament that haunts him every day. While Reigen is unconcerned about the ornament, Mob warns him not to touch it because it harbors many grudges and negative energies. Reigen, on the other hand, chastised Serizawa for failing to speak up despite seeing the danger surrounding the wicked ornament. As a result, Reigen requests that Serizawa redeem himself by exorcising the ornament. Serizawa was successful in exorcising the spirit, however, the ornament’s arm got separated from its body. Reigen used his Rice Grain Big Bang technique to reconnect the arm to its body in order to prevent Serizawa from making an 80,000 yen loan. Remarkably, Reigen only needed three grains of rice from his rice ball to attach the arm to the body. At home, Mob shared his problems and hopes for the future with his family. While his father suggests that he can be an office worker, Ritsu suggests that he can be a magician, for which he would be an excellent match. At the same time, Mob asks Dimple about his opinions regarding his current problem. Dimple told Mob that he could write whatever he wanted for the time being because almost no one would be doing the same thing in the future. Thanks to this conversation, Dimple was able to recall his original plan before helping Mob and his friends. At school, Mob continues to inquire about the future plans of the Body Improvement Club members. Except for him, Mob realizes that almost all of them know what they will do in the future. Mob meets Mezato on the rooftop, who insists that he has something to do with the Divine Tree that grew in the middle of the city. She also continues to discuss the Psycho Helmet Cult and its connection to the previous terrorist attack. However, Mob changed the topic and asked Mezato about her plans for the future, to which the latter replied that she wants to be a cameraman or a journalist. The next day, Mob, Reigen, and Serizawa take on a new client who claims to be possessed by a demon. While Reigen is disgusted by how filthy the client’s apartment is, Mob and Serizawa sympathize with the old man, who is lamenting the state of his life. A massive cloud of demon spirits appeared from the client’s house at that moment, luring the people outside to sleep, do nothing, and become lazy. Reigen used his Double Hydrogenated Water Mist to protect himself from evil spirit attacks before succumbing to the demon spirit’s minions. Following that, Reigen dashed inside the client’s home and requested that Mob and Serizawa exorcise the vengeful spirit. Despite successfully exorcising the spirit, Mob and Serizawa can’t get their minds off of their client’s life problems. They both believe that they will end up like the old man, with so many mistakes in their lives. For now, Mob returned to school and filled out his future aspirations form, with the goal of enrolling in a high school. In response to his form, his teacher advised Mob not to rush and to take things slowly before entering adulthood. Mob’s teacher also told him that he wanted to be a traveler who went from place to place, which easily influenced Mob. Before the episode ends, Mob apologizes to Reigen for not keeping his promise of working in the Spirits and Such Consultation Office forever. Much to Mob’s surprise, Reigen told him that in the future, he could do and be whatever he wanted. Meanwhile, Dimple flew over to the Divine Tree and proclaimed that his time has finally come.
