While the collab was pretty much a confirmed event since last week, it was finally made official via the official Fortnite Twitter account. In the reveal tweet, the crossover’s launch date was disclosed alongside the official visual for the collab.
MHA Collab Initial Teaser
Over the past couple of years, battle royales have continued to be popular, though Fortnite continues to be one of the most well-known, if not the most popular. Its popularity is thanks to a variety of reasons, though it’s fair to say that collabs are one way that Epic Games continues to make the game feel fresh. And while it may be a shooter, Fortnite has collaborated with a wide range of properties, including anime. Just a few months ago, Fortnite teamed up with Dragon Ball with a crossover event. And last year, it was Naruto that got a battle royale collab. The upcoming My Hero Academia crossover is the third collab by the game with a Shonen Jump property. Though before it was officially announced, the anime’s arrival in the game was teased in the Chapter 4 Season 1 launch trailer. At the end of the trailer which was released last week on the official Fortnite YouTube channel, Deku is shown jumping up in the air and performing a powerful smash attack. This pretty much confirmed that Deku is coming to the game this season.
MHA x Fortnite Collab Official Announcement
It has just been a bit over a week since the launch trailer’s tease of Deku, but finally, the awaited collaboration was revealed. While the crossover was made official, Epic Games has yet to give us the full details of the upcoming collab. Though it’s highly likely that info about the collab will be released in the coming days as was the case with other crossovers. Even without the full info, we are sure that Deku is coming to Fortnite as a player skin on December 16, 2022. Deku’s smash attack (possibly Detroit Smash) will also be added to the game based on the trailer footage. Based on the Dragon Ball collab, we should also get more skins from the series, as well as special items, in-game activities, and more. The Fortnite x My Hero Academia crossover comes right on time as the series’ sixth season is currently airing. In the anime’s latest events, things have begun heating up as Shigaraki clashes with Deku, Bakugo, and the other Pro Heroes.
