As per the trade’s bombshell report, the franchise is set for a major creative overhaul with projects such as Wonder Woman 3, Black Adam 2, and Man of Steel 2 no longer on the table. This naturally left a lot of fans dismayed and bewildered at the same time, especially Gal Gadot’s supporters as she recently celebrated being cast in the role.Well, it turns out that Wonder Woman 3’s cancelation wasn’t exactly Gunn and Safran’s fault. According to a new piece from Deadline, Warner Bros. Discovery asked director Patty Jenkins to do some tweaks to her current script which was reportedly leaning toward Wonder Woman 1984’s structure but Jenkins didn’t agree.The outlet writes: “Jenkins was given the chance to take another stab at a Wonder Woman 3 treatment after receiving notes from all Warner Bros. motion picture brass (it wasn’t just Gunn and Safran’s decision). There were concerns about character arcs and payoffs, and the threequel emulating similar structural problems ala Wonder Woman 1984. Now, where Gal’s allegiance actually belongs remains to be seen but it would be safe to assume that she’ll fight for Jenkins to retain her directorial position in the next Wonder Woman project.
