The teaser comes via an Instagram story from Peter Gadiot, the actor cast as the legendary red-haired pirate captain. While the image doesn’t fully reveal Shanks’ look in the live-action series, it does give fans an idea of what to expect. The story is gone now, but it has been captured and shared by Twitter user ONE PIECE NETFLIX FAN. Check it out here: The image features what seems to be Gadiot as Shanks – at least, it’s a shadow of him. But based on the silhouette, you can spot Shanks’ neck-length hairstyle, cape, and one arm. The shot is also set on a beach, possibly making it a recreation of the iconic scene where Shanks gives his straw hat to Luffy. This new set photo follows the sneak peek at the One Piece live-action set that Netflix released a month ago. While the Shank teaser photo and the set tour give fans a glimpse at the upcoming series, we have yet to see actual scenes or screenshots from the show. Netflix announced the One Piece live-action series back in 2020, and production started earlier this year in South Africa. The series stars Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. At the helm are showrunners Matt Owens and Steven Maeda. One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda is also heavily involved with the series, serving as an executive producer. Oda even visited the set in South Africa during his month-long break ahead of the manga’s final saga. Right now, Netflix has yet to announce a release date for the One Piece live-action series.
