Zombie has announced on Instagram that The Munsters is officially coming to Netflix this year and will be joining Wednesday, the upcoming Addams Family series that is also set to be released on the streamer. The musician-director also made a reference to the time when the original The Addams Family and The Munsters were in the air at the same time back in the ’60s.

Prior to this announcement, there were speculations that the film will be released on Peacock and possibly a limited theatrical release. Now, we finally have our official information regarding its release. While the trailer received divisive reactions, it looks like it has sparked enough interest for the people to check it out.
So far, there are no details yet regarding the film’s exact release date although the trailer indicated that it will be shown this September. Netflix has also not made any official comment about the film’s upcoming release on their platform.
The film’s synopsis reads: “From Rob Zombie comes the strangest love story ever told as Herman and Lily’s crazy courtship takes The Munsters on a hauntingly hilarious trip from Transylvania to Hollywood.” It stars Jeff Daniel Phillips, Sheri Moon Zombie, Daniel Roebuck, Jorge Garcia, Richard Brake, and Cassandra Peterson.
