RWBY Ice Queendom Episodes 1-3 Recap
The first 3 episodes of RWBY: Ice Queendom all aired together, which was fitting for several reasons. Firstly, for those wondering if RWBY: Ice Queendom is a reboot, Rooster Teeth confirmed that while the first few episodes will recap the first season of their original RWBY animation, the rest of the series will be a new adventure that took place early in the story. We’re now done with the recap and ready for new content. Secondly, Episode 4, which will introduce this new content, will premiere as part of the Anime Expo events. This will also be the weekend of the Rooster Teeth Expo that will hopefully involve updates about RWBY Volume 9! In the first three episodes of RWBY: Ice Queendom, we’re re-introduced to the four main characters. Ruby; a sweet and awkward 15-year-old girl who shows promise as a Huntress and skips two grades to study in Beacon Academy; Yang; her cheerful, adventurous half-sister; Weiss; the haughty daughter of a tycoon trying to carve her own path; and Blake; a cat-human hybrid who fled a terrorist group to start a new life as a Huntress. The first three episodes promise that it won’t always be easy for this team of four to get along, but they will hopefully get there by the end of the season. So far, the Shaft anime is mostly filling in blanks instead of adding new content, though a new character, Shion, was already introduced. Shion’s work to eliminate nightmare-inducing Grimm adds a surrealist element to the new RWBY anime, with some scenes that will remind you of magical girl anime like Madoka Magika and its dark, unforgettable aesthetics.

RWBY: Ice Queendom Episode 4 will arrive on Sunday, July 24th. The premiere date for RWBY: Ice Queendom Episode 4 was the 3rd of July 2022. Episode 4 was initially presented as part of Anime Expo 2022, followed by a discussion with both American and Japanese creators working on RWBY. The series started airing weekly in Japan on July 3rd. With weekly releases, episode four will arrive on online platforms on July 24th.
