Based on the footage, it looks like it is going to be a fun action film to watch and it’s also great to see Stallone being a badass even at his age. It also seems inevitable for the actor to play a role like this in his career even though he was already in comic book movies in the past few years. This has the potential to be a hit amongst the audience and it’s interesting to see what they have in store.
The film’s logline reads: “Thirteen-year-old Sam Cleary suspects that his mysterious and reclusive neighbor Mr. Smith is actually a legend hiding in plain sight. Twenty years ago, Granite City’s super-powered vigilante, Samaritan, was reported dead after a fiery warehouse battle with his rival, Nemesis. Most believe Samaritan perished in the fire, but some in the city, like Sam, have hope that he is still alive. With crime on the rise and the city on the brink of chaos, Sam makes it his mission to coax his neighbor out of hiding to save the city from ruin.”
Besides Stallone (who also co-produced) and Walton, the cast also includes Pilou Asbæk, Dascha Polanco, and Moises Arias. Julius Avery directed the film. The story was previously adapted into Mythos Comics graphic novels that were first published in 2014.

Samaritan is set to release on Prime Video on August 26.
