According to CBR, Marvel made a correction in their press release and confirmed that Page is not actually part of Secret Invasion contrary to the original version of their statement and it turns out to be a mistake on their part.
Despite the studio’s clarification, there are fans who are speculating that Page is actually going to be part of the series as a surprise appearance and his name’s inclusion in the press release was just an accidental leak. However, there is no evidence that has backed the theory.
While the fans of the actor might be disappointed to hear the news, he is one of the hottest names right now in Hollywood and there is a huge possibility that he will join a comic book franchise soon, especially now that he is in big studio films such as The Gray Man and the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
It wouldn’t be surprising if we’ll ever hear Page’s name attached to an MCU project in the near future given his current popularity and appeal that will make the studios consider him for high-profile films. Who knows, maybe that will happen soon and Marvel certainly has a lot of characters that need to be filled by actors as they’re working on several projects at the moment.
Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, and Don Cheadle are reprising their MCU roles in the series. They are joined by Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Killian Scott, Carmen Ejogo, Christopher McDonald, and Dermot Mulroney.
