What is K.E.V.I.N. in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law?
The direction of the finale of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law didn’t really sit well with Jen and she may have just made herself the most powerful in the MCU by managing to alter the ending of her own series, not through a reality stone, but through breaking the fourth wall. As Jen jumps into the interface of Disney Plus and goes into Marvel’s Assembled, she walks through the Disney compound and heads straight into the writer’s room where the people who are actually working on the series are talking about the second season of the show. They reveal that they answer to Kevin, and that they would literally kill anyone for Kevin but just as Jen and everyone else thought it would be Kevin Feige, the big boss of Marvel, it turns out to be an AI, K.E.V.I.N., which stands for Knowledge Enhanced Visual Interconnectivity Nexus.

See, K.E.V.I.N. decides what happens to a project with the most advanced entertainment algorithm to make a narrative and it has the final call for everything that is happening but Jen got the ending she wanted by literally demanding for it with her closing statement. Speaking with Marvel.com, head writer Jessica Gao shared the process on how they came up with K.E.V.I.N. being brought into the series and how they ended up with Jen’s conversation with it citing the She-Hulk comics of John Bryne. Gao explained, “It felt natural that not only that she was in a show, but that she would have opinions about the show, especially since she just was completely betrayed by the makers of this show. It just felt right that she would go and complain to the ultimate lord of Marvel, which is K.E.V.I.N..” Gao also reveals that she had the idea of writing K.E.V.I.N.’s appearance with a cap similar to Kevin Feige’s, “I wrote in the script that when she sees this big AI machine, it’s wearing a little black baseball hat, a classic Kevin Feige-style black baseball hat.” “When the visual development team was showing us different possible sketches of K.E.V.I.N., they were all wearing little hats. No matter what type of robot or machine it was, it was wearing a little black baseball hat on top," Gao added. Gao even shares that the writers look at Kevin Feige the same way as the writers in the series regarded him, “It was just so funny to make these writers revere Kevin in the way that everyone at Marvel Studios reveres Kevin. This is kind of how Kevin is talked about at the studio. I mean, I really drew so much from real life to put into that section of the finale.” It’s an ingenious way to put Kevin Feige’s AI version into the series and it actually resulted into the finale that She-Hulk: Attorney At Law has now. Will everyone see K.E.V.I.N. once more in the MCU? All episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law are available to stream on Disney+.
