Deadline has reported that Simon Pegg is set to return in the fourth season of The Boys reprising the role of Hugh Campbell Sr., Hughie’s father. He previously had recurring appearances during the first season as well as a special guest appearance in one episode during the third season. In addition, The Staircase star Rosemarie DeWitt has also been cast to play Hughie’s mother in the upcoming season while Rob Benedict (Supernatural) and Elliot Knight (Titans) are confirmed to join the cast in undisclosed roles.
While we don’t have the details yet regarding the circumstances of Pegg’s return in the upcoming season, considering that they are also bringing Hughie’s mother into the fold, it sounds like one of the upcoming episodes will explore Hughie’s relationship with his family and it’s interesting to see what they have in store for that storyline. The cast for the upcoming fourth season includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, Chace Crawford, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Cameron Crovetti. Susan Heyward and Valorie Curry are also part of the cast as the new Supes Sister Sage and Firecracker. The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan is also confirmed to be part of the season in an undisclosed role. There is no release window set yet for the next installment.
