The divisive character, played and voiced by Ahmed Best appeared in Episodes I, II, and III but over the course of the prequels, the Gungan had lesser screen time and it’s probably due to the backlash he received from the get-go. Best dealt with harsh criticism from the fandom for years and it took a huge toll on his mental health, so much so that he once considered committing suicide. These days, the 49-year-old actor is in a much better place mentally and is still attached to the Star Wars franchise, making appearances at geek conventions and whatnot. While Best may have come to terms with Jar Jar being a polarizing figure in the galaxy, he’s still very much determined to win his biggest critics over. Taking to Twitter, Best revealed that he’s working on a one-man show about Jar Jar and even hinted that he’ll tell the story of the popular fan theory surrounding the character secretly being a Sith. He wrote: “I think it’s time for my version of how it all went down.” Check out Best’s tweet below: Also Read: Taika Waititi’s Star Wars Film Joke Resurrects Darth Jar Jar DebacleWe’re not quite sure how Best will execute his Jar Jar-centric one-man show but I guess we’ll just have to check out his social media pages from time to time to get updates.
