Earlier this year, it was finally announced that Natasha Liu Bordizzo will portray the Star Wars Rebels character in the Disney+ show after rumors about her casting started a year before. So now that the cat is out of the bag, Bordizzo is sharing cool new details on how she landed the part. Natasha Liu Bordizzo recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter where she confessed that she had no idea what show she was auditioning for. “To this day, it’s one of the strangest and most wonderful casting experiences of my life,” she said.
“I remember it was a very, very coded thing that didn’t give you any information,” Bordizzo added. “I had a scene from Top Gun to audition with, and I played this male pilot. And then there was another scene. I can’t remember what it was from, but it obviously wasn’t a scene from the show.” These are all amazing details and we’re loving what this all suggests. With that in mind, we can’t wait to see Natasha Liu Bordizzo in action when Ahsoka premieres next year. Ahsoka will bring back Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, who appeared in The Mandalorian Season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett. The series will also feature characters from the animated series Star Wars Rebels including Bordizzo’s Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, and Ezra Bridger. The actors who will play the latter two characters have not yet been announced.
