Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man spinoff, Madame Web, is currently in production and as per usual, revealed cast members are not allowed to talk about it. However, 50 Shades of Grey star actress Dakota Johnson is set to lead the film, with Madame Web being her first superhero role, and becoming the first female superhero in Sony’s Spider-Verse!
On the carpet of the 11th annual LACMA Art + Film Gala, Sydney Sweeney was asked by Variety about progress in Euphoria season 3, Barbarella, and the most anticipated yet highly locked down on details, Madame Web. When asked what it was like for Sweeney to work with Dakota Johnson, the young actress was quick to share how much she adored Dakota. Read her full quote below:
“I was a little nervous,” Sweeney tried to keep herself composed, but couldn’t, as the thought of working closely with Dakota made her all the more giddy in the interview, “I have to say — I snuck 50 Shades of Grey in high school. My parents didn’t let me watch it. So I’m a huge fan of her. She’s so hot. No [I haven’t told her], but, Dakota, you’re hot and I loved working with you.”
While plot details are still under wraps for Madame Web, it is safe to assume that the plot will revolve around its origins in the comic books, seeing as this will be its first film. You can read more about Madame Web’s speculated plots here.
