Each Tales of the Walking Dead episode will feature different characters and storylines. Now, showrunner Channing Powell teased the spinoff could go in different directions and periods. So, what will be the difference between these two shows?
Tales of the Walking Dead Timeline
In an interview with Collider, Powell revealed each episode of Tales of the Walking Dead would feature different stories. It would explore plotlines that the mother show didn’t manage to do so, like the stories in different parts of the U.S. when the apocalypse began. Tales of the Walking Dead Cast and Their Roles
According to Screen Rant, the anthology series will introduce new characters to the TWD world. However, fans may also see a glimpse of some of the most familiar stars, like Samantha Morton’s famous role as the villain Alpha. Though each episode’s major details and characters are yet to be revealed, it has been known that Olivia Munn, Terry Crews and Daniella Pineda will join the series. With these new faces and stories, Tales of the Walking Dead will be far different from TWD. “We do want to introduce some new elements and new tones and new looks and new flavors,” Powell said via TV Insider.
Ramirez, Crews and Morton’s Roles in Tales of the Walking Dead
Ramirez, Crews and Morton will be seen in three different episodes. In an interview, Ramirez teased his episode would be horror and suspense. Without giving too much, he revealed his role would be Eric, along with Pineda’s Idalia. “[They] have been going through pure survival mode for years already, and they wind up in this location,” he said. “It’s just a very beautiful, human story of two people.” Alternatively, Crews will play the doomsday prepper, Joe, with Munn’s Evie. I want to go back to 1968 when Night of the Living Dead hit the world,” he stated. “It changed my life forever. The first time I saw a Black hero. It was unprecedented, it was controversial, and also the social commentary changed the game.” Talking about his episode, he hinted that, “It was so good, so scary; I still am having nightmares.” Lastly, Morton teased her episode has a special meaning to fans who have watched her role as Alpha in TWD. “I’m not going to say you’re not going to get to see Alpha but it’s about Dee and it’s about [her daughter] Lydia,” she teased.
