The biggest movie of the year finally arrived in theaters and everyone just couldn’t get more excited on what happens next after how explosive the film ended. Everything was back to zero and to start over means losing, literally, everyone. Here is what happened in the ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The Ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home Explained
It is painful to lose someone you love but in the case of Peter Parker, he lost everyone. From the death of Aunt May which turned out to be the MCU version of the death of Uncle Ben and having the line “with great power comes with great responsibility,” to losing MJ and Ned after they forget him following the spell of Doctor Strange, Peter Parker’s reboot of life is definitely not easy. After Doctor Strange casts the spell of making everyone forget that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, the multiversal villains and trespassers were sent home to their respective universes, even Venom who just planned to go to New York City to talk to powered people was returned to his own timeline. This includes Tobey Maguire’s and Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker, as well. The adverse effect, however, was MJ and Ned forgetting Peter Parker. When he went to MJ to check in on her, she was confused as to who Peter is and there, he decided what he felt best for everyone: not to reintroduce himself in their lives so they would not get in danger.
This is an extremely heroic act for Peter Parker. It is painful, for sure, and his want of starting over again meant everyone he cared about forgetting him as well. Now, he is just the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man who helps others in his own way and he has, literally, no one left. Wherever this path takes him is another talk but it is a good start to have a clean slate. However, this doesn’t mean that it just stops there. It is possible that the reboot of his life would result in another set of Spider-Man movies and it also opens up a dilemma in the next MCU movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness after he messed with space-time in doing what he could for Peter Parker. Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently out in theaters. On September 2, 2022, Sony released Spider-Man: No Way Home - The More Fun Stuff Version. This new version will have 11 minutes of new footage.
