The Second Age of Middle-earth is about to grace the screens with J.R.R. Tolkien’s work breathing a new life with The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Various critics from different sites who got the chance to have an early screening of the double-header premiere and it is a positive take so far.
From The Wrap, Brandon Katz said on Twitter, “Okay so the first two episodes of #LordoftheRings#RingsofPower are a spectacular sight to behold. The scale, scope, ambition and grandiosity is unrivaled on TV. It also has the laborious task of introducing SO much necessary world building that it takes a bit to set flight.”
Katz added, “I’m very encouraged with the first two #RingsofPower episodes overall. Each pocket of civilization they visit puts forth a new perspective and mythical cultural wonders. Straightforward plot mixed with starry eyes. #LordOfTheRings.”
Steven Weintraub of Collider noted, “Everything about this series is incredible. From the cinematography to the costumes to the movie quality sets. And, of course, the cast. Get ready for something special.”
New York Post’s Lauren Sarner shared, “I’ve seen the first 2 episodes. I had been skeptical…but I was very pleasantly surprised. It is actually good! Very good! Visuals & tone are just right. IMO, a great addition to the Tolkien world”

These reviews are only a few of many positive reviews and sure, it may have some slow pace but considering that the first two episodes have to set up a huge world and a lot of characters, it’s an understandable pacing. It’s unusual to have no introductions, right?
Sauron wanted to bind the Elves, thus, the creation of the rings of power and that is when all the fiasco started on Middle-earth. He has many names and his intentions are vile.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will also feature the fall of the kingdom of Númenor and the people of Middle-earth will be having their paths intertwined as they stand ground and hold their place.
