From the pages of the shōnen manga series written by Ken Wakui in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine, Takemichi Hanagaki’s revenge is finally coming to an end as he completes it in Tokyo Revengers. The end of the manga is announced on the official Twitter page of the title. With the end of the manga series happening on November 16, 2022, as announced, there are still a lot of potential for the second season of the anime series of Tokyo Revengers since the anime has yet to cover most of the material where it is based on. Tokyo Revengers manga has a lot of accolades under its belt including bagging the 44th annual Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2020, and one of the most famous manga titles in 2021 with millions of copies in circulation.

Tokyo Revengers follows Takemichi who was about to give up in life and worse, the only woman he loved in his life, his ex-girlfriend Hinata Tachibana, died in the hands of the Tokyo Manji Gang, the notorious group of criminals breaking the peace of the community. As Takemichi was supposed to jump off a train platform, he gets transported back into 12 year prior the present, to the time when he and Hinata were still dating and given this new chance to change the future, Takemichi plans to re-write his life. With the ability to time travel, Takemichi will go through different struggles especially getting mixed into the formation of the Tokyo Manji Gang as he infiltrates it to prevent a gruesome future. With a second season up ahead in January 2023, Tokyo Revenger still has a lot to cover from the manga into the anime series which still leaves room for more adaptations in the future.
