Black Panther: Wakanda Forever grossed $30.8M in 43 markets at the International Box Office (via comicbook.com) and along with its domestic previews, it garnered a running global total of $58.8M (via Deadline), beating Black Panther’s 2018 preview night record of $25.2M. Black Panther did, however, go off to become the most successful first standalone MCU film with $202M on its opening weekend, with a $1.3 Billion total worldwide.
In comparison, the first two days’ results for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, according to Deadline, is 143% ahead of Black Adam, 26% above The Batman, and 16% below the original Black Panther. However, with Black Panther 2 just being released, there is a huge chance the sequel will close the gap and perhaps even surpass its predecessor.

In fact, at the same time, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a great conclusion to Phase Four as it is now entering a new phase in the MCU, and the sequel “set up a promising future for the Wakanda-adjacent characters” in its entirety.
