However, it looks like the special will not feature a cameo appearance of a beloved MCU character according to a scoop from the Weekly Planet Podcast (via The Direct). The podcast host James Clement revealed that Blade was supposed to appear in the special. However, Mahershala Ali wasn’t able to film his scene due to scheduling conflicts. “Anyway, here’s a scoop, Mason… Blade, I can’t prove this, was originally set to debut in a Halloween special but was cut due to scheduling conflicts,” Clement said. “Monster hunter, goes to a monster house. Makes sense, love that. It’s not happening, apparently.”
Blade’s supposed cameo in the upcoming special would have been his second appearance in the MCU after his off-screen voice appearance in the second post-credits of Eternals leading up to his solo film that is set to be released next year. There have been previous rumors that Blade will make a cameo appearance in the special. However, Marvel Studios has not made any official announcement or disputed any rumor regarding the character’s potential appearance. For now, we have to take it with a grain of salt. If Blade is indeed going to be absent in the special despite initial plans for him to show up, it is unfortunate to hear that it didn’t end up happening since it really makes a lot of sense for him to show up considering that he is adjacent to the supernatural world of the MCU. However, despite his potential absence in the special, we could still see him in his upcoming solo movie and it will serve as his proper debut in the MCU, which is what fans have been anticipating ever since his casting was announced back in 2019.
