Fans of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure were outraged when Netflix did not do much to promote the anime’s return prior to the release of Part 2. In addition, fans have mixed feelings about the anime itself. Some people liked it, while others didn’t. In any case, all 24 episodes of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean are now available on Netflix.
What Is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean About?
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean is the sixth story arc in the franchise, preceding Golden Wind and following Steel Ball Run. It first appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 1999 and ran until April 2003. The Stone Ocean manga series has produced 17 tankobon manga volumes during its run. In the 2015 Charapedia poll, Japanese readers ranked Stone Ocean as the 17th most shocking ending in both manga and anime, out of all the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure story arcs. Furthermore, the annual reference mook series, Kono Manga ga Sugoi, praised the series, particularly the main character, Jolyne Cujoh. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean centers on Jolyne Cujoh, the estranged daughter of Jotaro Kujo, the main protagonist of the third story arc of the series, Stardust Crusaders. The anime then follows Jolyne’s strange life in Green Dolphin Street Prison after her ex-boyfriend, Romeo Jisso, pulled the strings and blamed her for a hit-and-run accident. Jolyne was pricked by a pendant her father had given her before being transferred to the Golden Dolphin Street Prison. This pendant, as it turns out, contains a fragment of the Stand-bestowing Arrow. In the days that followed, she discovered that she could manifest her own stand, Stone Free, allowing her to unravel her body into multiple deadly threads.
