It’s already been several years since Game of Thrones became one of the most influential series of its time. It’s almost universally agreed that the ending didn’t live up to viewers’ expectations but this is still not the last we are going to see of the fandom. House of the Dragon is coming soon, and while any GoT media might be met with apprehension, there’s also some hope and excitement.
About House of the Dragon
While not a direct prequel, House of the Dragon takes place three hundred years before the events of Game of Thrones, from the time when the Targaryens were still sitting on the Iron Throne. Based on George R. R. Martin’s Fire and Blood, it tells the story of a Targaryen civil war known as “The Dance of Dragons” (also the title of the fifth A Song of Ice and Fire book!) which marked the beginning of the Targaryen’s downfall.
Where to Stream House of the Dragon?
Like its predecessor, Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon is an HBO series and it will be available to stream exclusively on HBO and HBO Max.
How to Watch House of the Dragon in the UK?
You can watch House of the Dragon on Sky TV via Sky Atlantic if you are in the UK. You can also stream it online on NOW (formerly Now TV). HBO Max is only available in North America, which means that it isn’t an option for UK-based viewers. Don’t worry though; there are options available for such a high-profile series. Sky Atlantic can come with a regular Sky subscription, which, depending on your choice of bundle, starts at £22, (plus installation). Alternatively, you can use Sky’s streaming service, NOW, for £9.99 per month. The release date for House of the Dragon is going to be August 21, 2022 (22 August for the UK), so there’s still some time to tune in!
