Which Studio Animated Naruto?
Naruto was animated by Studio Pierrot or Pierrot Co., Ltd. It is a Japanese animation studio known for animating popular shows like Naruto, Bleach, Tokyo Ghoul, Black Clover, Great Teacher Onizuka, and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. It was established in May 1979 by Mushi Production and Tatsunoko Production. Kishimoto specifically requested that Nishio Tetsuya was the character designer for the series when it was animated. The series was directed by Hayato Date. Originally, the series premiered in Japan from October 3, 2002 to February 8, 2007 but the anime was remastered to HD by 2009. The rerun was released every Wednesday and Thursday. The schedule of the rerun was changed to Wednesdays in September 2009. The series was licensed to Crunchyroll, Joost, and Hulu for fans to watch the show online. There was also a DVD released containing uncut editions with variations on the story arcs. The reason for this is that there were censored scenes like appearances of alcohol, blood, and death. The sequel entitled Naruto: Shippuden was released from February 2007 to March 2017 in Japan. TV Tokyo decided to stream it online to monthly subscribers and this included English subtitles. The dubbed version of the sequel was released in October 2009 on Disney XD before it was moved to Adult Swim’s Toonami in 2014.
