If you’re wondering who dies in the film, we honestly think it should have been someone else. Here’s our list of the characters in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery who should have been murdered. If you haven’t watched the movie yet, let this be your warning for major spoilers.
Benoit Blanc
Daniel Craig is the only one who has reprised his role in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Everyone else is a new character introduced for the sequel alone. In this movie, we see how the eccentric detective is coping in the pandemic– by spending most of his time in the tub and playing Among Us with his group of friends. One day, he receives a wooden puzzle box inviting him to go on an exclusive island to solve the murder of trillionaire Miles Bron (played by Edward Norton). Does he deserve to die? Definitely no! We still want to see him in a third Knives Out installment in the future.
Miles Bron
This brings us to the villain in the movie, Miles Bron. Norton does an excellent job in bringing the character to life, which reminds us of Elon Musk. We discover that he has betrayed Andi Brand (played by Janelle Monáe) to get hold of her company, Alpha, for himself. Not only that, he has allowed her friends to turn their backs on her simply because he is capable of financing and helping them out of their problems. Does he deserve to die? A hundred times, yes, for being a douchebag and a jerk. Also, for killing and betraying his friends.
Cassandra “Andi”/Helen Brand
Monáe plays two roles in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery as she portrays twin sisters, Andi and Helen. Andi is Miles’ estranged business partner who is actually the brain behind Alpha. When she shows up unexpectedly on the island, everyone is shocked since everyone has betrayed her in the case against Miles. As Helen, Monáe does an excellent job in portraying her sister and making everyone believe she is still alive. Does she deserve to die? No, Andi and Helen doesn’t deserve to die. Andi was a victim of greed and her own friends betrayed her because of their selfish ambitions.
Birdie Jay
Kate Hudson plays the role of Birdie Jay, a has-been model who always gets herself in trouble over the littlest things. And for that, she has her handler, Peg (played by Jessica Henwick), who has to keep tabs on her so she won’t be called out or cancelled for some of her offensive slurs. Does she deserve to die? Not really. Birdie Jay is plainly stupid and gets away with it because she’s a model.
Peg
Birdie Jay’s handler, Peg, gets involved in the trouble with Miles simply because of her presence in the island. She later corners Miles to ask him not to ask Birdie to own up to a mistake of hers simply because it will kill her own career too. She’s not on our list of people who deserve to die. Truth be told, her loyalty to Birdie is commendable. But if Miles offered her something, she would have left Birdie too.
Claire Debella
Kathryn Hahn portrays a typical politician who thinks she is above everyone else. In the movie, she plays Claire Debella, the governor of Connecticut, who has openly been funded by Miles. Does she deserve to die? Yes, simply because she is a dirty politician who would drop everything with one phone call from Miles– even her own family.
Lionel Toussaint
Lionel Toussaint is played by Leslie Odom Jr. He is a brilliant scientist and engineer at Alpha, who often has to explain Miles’ actions to everyone else. He doesn’t deserve to die since he’s the one who knows how dangerous Klear can be.
Duke Cody
Dave Bautista plays the role of Duke Cody, an influencer known for his far-right political stand. He has a gun with him at all times and is a douche too. He lives with his mom and has a young girlfriend, Whiskey (played by Madelyn Cline). He knows that Whiskey has secretly been sneaking off to see Miles and he encourages it in exchange for getting him to let him be on Alpha News. His death is well-deserved in the film because he is a jerk towards women, even his own girlfriend who he encourages to sleep with his own friend in return for his selfish ambition.
Whiskey
Cline plays the role of Whiskey, a young, ambitious woman who’s eager to land on the top. She has a “secret” affair with Miles and seems to be on her way to becoming a traitor too. Although she doesn’t really die in the movie, we don’t wish she does. But we’d want to see her turn her life around instead of choosing that path. You can check out the characters in this trailer:
