The Quintessential Quintuplets features the colorful Nakano quintuplets composed of Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki. The girls, who have their own quirks and personalities, are pushing to improve their academic performance under the guidance of their private tutor, Fuutarou Uesugi. Fuutarou was employed by the girls’ stepfather in the hopes that the girls will strive harder in school. Throughout the series, Fuutarou builds a special relationship with each of the quintuplets. The girls sport different interests and styles in their clothing, hair, and hobbies because of their identical faces. It takes some time for Fuutarou to fully know who is who as the quintuplets can easily take each other’s place by mimicking each other’s style and look. It’s also revealed that Fuutarou is inspired to study because of a girl he once met in Kyoto. He has kept the photo of the girl in his student handbook since then. However, the twist is that the girl in the photo is one of the Nakano sisters!
