However, in a recent interview with Deadline during the Los Angeles premiere of Avatar: The Way of Water, Saldana clarified her comments where she iterated that she is grateful for the opportunities that the directors have given to her in the franchises that she’s involved. “I would love to set the record straight. I feel grateful and like the luckiest girl in this town knowing that I was invited to join films with special directors in a special cast,” she said. “And they resonated with people so much so that we get a chance to come back again and come back another time. If anything, I’ve reaped all the benefits of that, I’ve gained friends. I still have mentors that I call and I lean into.”
The actress continued, “But you know, I think that once I started my family, it just became really hard for me to sustain both worlds and also then cater to this curiosity of playing other different characters or playing earthlings you know, but I’m happy in space. I’ve always been happy in space. I relate to people that love space as well.” It is great to see that Saldana set the record straight with her comments since there are fans that are starting to get worried about what she actually meant and concerned that it might be the end of her involvement in the franchises that she’s currently attached to. Thankfully, it looks like that won’t happen soon as far as we know. The actress is currently set to star in more films in the Avatar franchise. In the MCU, she is set to appear next in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 although it is unknown yet whether it will be her final hurrah.
