Taz Skylar recently confirmed in an Instagram post that he had finally wrapped filming for One Piece. The Vinsmoke Sanji actor added a lengthy caption thanking everyone he worked with on the Netflix series. It looked like the entire cast and crew were tagged in the post, all except one: Mackenyu is the only cast member who got snubbed.
It’s a hilarious detail that One Piece fans immediately noticed. In the manga and anime, Zoro and Sanji are constantly bickering and seem to dislike each other. Despite the animosity between the two characters, they still manage to work well when it comes to defending the Straw Hats crew.
Although it looks like Mackenyu got “snubbed” in the post, he is clearly in on the joke. The Fullmetal Alchemist: Revenge of Scar actor “liked” Skylar’s post.
Mackenyu may have been the last actor to confirm that he has arrived on the set of One Piece but he is also the first to leave. The Knights of the Zodiac star recently returned to Japan for promotional activities.
The One Piece series will also star Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji as the main Straw Hats crew. The series will also feature Morgan Davies as Koby, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino as Alvida, Aidan Scott as Helmeppo, McKinley Belcher III as Arlong, Vincent Regan as Garp, Alexander Maniatis as Klahadore, Steven Ward as Mihawk, Peter Gadiot as Red-Haired Shanks, Craig Fairbrass as Chef Zeff, Langley Kirkwood as Captain Morgan, Celeste Loots as Kaya, and Chioma Umeala as Nojiko.
One Piece is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2023.
